Project: Exploration, but more on the air of how it relates to the subconscious, what the word exploration makes you feel.
Instantly, I knew I wanted to do a contemporary explorer, for while I respect the old innovators, it's far more interesting for me to learn about something unknown (or rather, recently found). Naturally, Jane Goodall was a fun choice and thus..here is a painting of Jane Goodall. Overall, this piece was fun, I like the outcome, and it was my first time trying this process. I wanted to focus on their minds and how they related to each other, and so I didn't pick out the details I'm usually drawn towards. Fortunately, it seemed to work to at least some degree.
I think it's 17" long, but i've forgotten. I really need to start recording these things.
(p.s. no, i'm not retarded. yes, i'm good at math [yes, art and math]. I had to crop this image due to a scan malfunction that i'm not going to redo. the proportions of the original are not the same as this image.)
acrylic underpainting, watercolor, finishing touches in gauche.
